A uncommon and distinctive variant of the classic White jamun fruit tree is the White Jamun, also known as Safed Jamun or White Java Plum. Unlike the deep purple jamun, this plant produces lovely creamy-white to light-pink fruits that are pleasantly sweet, less acidic, and seedless or semi-seedless in some circumstances. Plant Features Type: Tropical fruit tree that is evergreen White Jamun is a rare Syzygium cumini cultivar. When fully grown, height should be between 20 and 30 feet (manageable with pruning). The leaves are oblong, glossy, dark green, and fragrant when crushed. Clusters of small, fragrant, greenish-white flowers Fruit Properties Shape: oblong to oval Dimensions: Medium in size, comparable to a typical jamun When ripe, the skin is pale white to light pink. Taste: Refreshing, slightly sweet, and less tart than White jamun Pulp: Soft, juicy, and containing few or no seeds Soil and Climate Conditions Climate: Does well in regions that are tropical or subtropical.
